Terminal Facilities
Salt Lake City, Utah

As the Technology Consultant for the Department of Airports, KRBA has provided the following services:

• Information Technology Master Plans (original and revised after 7 years)
• Wireless Concession Development
• Review of the fiber optic backbone & horizontal distribution cables
• Developed an RFP for new Multi-User Information Display System
• Financial review of the Shared Tenant Service (STS) system
• Developed WI-FI concession and DAS design
• Developed pay telephone concession RFP
• Prepared a study reviewing the wireless usage of the cellular carriers located at the Airport
• Developed a detailed outline for Business Continuity Planning
• Completed a detailed Inventory of communications cabling and established a Cable
Management System
• Established an interface between the GIS and cable system
• Preliminary Technology Design for new terminal building
• Preliminary Design for Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS)

KRBA is under a 7 year consulting contract to provide as-required technology consulting services.





Facility-Wide Wireless Local Area Network (LAN) Design
Greater Orlando Aviation Authority


As the Communication Consultant, we were responsible for the following tasks:

• Needs assessment for wireless opportunities
• Survey and interviews of management and tenants
• Facilitate negotiation between cellular carriers and airport authority
• Detailed wireless local area network design
• Development of recommendations
• Develop service and operation procedures for Wi-Fi network
• Equipment design for cellular antenna systems installed on parking garages
• Providing consultation on overall wireless issues






New International Terminal Building
San Francisco, California


For the New International Terminal Building, KRBA provided the following services:

• Developed construction specifications and drawings for the implementation of special systems
• Oversaw implementation of the special systems
• Reviewed construction documents for the Terminal
• Integrated all communications systems
• Provided design and bid support of Common Use Equipment
• Communications Center
• Implemented intelligent supervisory systems
• Developed policies and procedures for the implementation of Shared Tenant Services
• Prepared Technical Specifications for STS

In addition, KRBA provided the following services:

• Project coordination with three design teams, including the project architect

• Legal Assistance to City Attorney in Cellular Licensing

Prior to the detailed design and construction of systems, KRBA developed a Communications Master Plan that included identifying and evaluating all current and planned communication-related systems; assessment of current communication infrastructure; review of future procurement plans; interviews with key staff; exploration of new communications technologies; review of State and Federal regulations on communication-related issues; analysis of the Communications Department organization; and developing detailed recommendations.





New Terminal D Building
Las Vegas, Nevada


KRBA performed a number of tasks for Clark County over several years. Specific tasks included:

• Communications Consultant for the new Satellite Terminal D, including:
• Review of construction documents for the Terminal
• Developed Premises Distribution System
• Integrated all airport systems including:
     • Multi-user Information Display System
        Common User Passenger Processing System (CUPPS)
     • Gate Management System
     • Dynamic advertising
     • Universal cable distribution system
     • Communications Center
• Staff augmentation
• Developed a 10-year Communications Master Plan
• Developed an all-encompassing Plan to implement the technical advancements in the project throughout the existing airport.
• Addressed the communications/information system and services used by the facility’s tenants
• Conducted a study of advanced telecommunication services at the Terminal including:
     • Shared Tenant Services feasibility study
     • Network compatibility design
     • Revenue enhancement/ cost reduction
     • Reorganize telecommunications department
     • Review equipment and ergonomic requirements of

• Prepared a Request for Proposal for WI-FI and Distributed Antenna System (DAS)

As part of the Plan, we evaluated current and future systems; assessed existing communications infrastructure; examined future procurement plans; gathered information from key individuals; explored new communication technologies; monitored regulation; reviewed the communication department; and developed recommendations.
